Hello.
The following is an important information regarding you PPSN application. As you already know, anyone starting a job in Ireland for the for the first time will need to apply for a PPS number, which we will deal with for you.
Please note you will have to attend an in-person appointment with the Revenue officer as part of the whole procedure. You will receive time off to attend this appointment, you will have to arrange your own travel to the Revenue office and if you don’t speak English you may have to ask for help in translation from other people attending the appointment with you.
This is a lengthy process which may last between 8 to 12 weeks during which you will have emergency tax deducted; some applications take longer time, others are processed faster – there is no guarantee or knowing how soon you will receive you PPSN. By accepting a job in Ireland you have agreed with this procedure and we ask you to be patient; sometimes the Irish Revenue may make a mistake with your records on the system, which may cause additional steps to taken to sort out any application issues. In case of any delays or problems in the application, we understand that you may be frustrated, but please remember that this is beyond our control and we will not tolerate any abusive or threatening behaviour.
- First, we will set up MyGOVID accounts for you and apply for PPS number on your behalf. You will then receive a message confirming date/address and hour of your in-person appointment. From the HR office, you will receive the necessary documents to present at the Revenue office. Please remember to take your ID card with you!
- After the appointment, your card with PPS number will arrive within 2 or 3 weeks – please make sure you check your post box at your accommodation every day.
- After you receive your PPSN number, please pass it to us so we can finalise your registration.
- Finally, please await a letter by post with your password to your Revenue account. Please do not change your password or make any changes in your account until you receive your emergency tax back.
PLEASE CONTACT US ASAP IF YOU RECEIVE
E-MAIL FROM MYWELFARE.IE or Revenue
After you receive your emergency tax back you may personalize your account. Please remember that you may not get all your tax back and in such cases the soonest we can apply for your tax back is next January; in some cases the Irish Revenue may ask you for a certificate of income from Bulgaria especially if you have spent less than six months in Ireland.
If you leave your employment before your PPSN is issued, you will not be able to retrieve your emergency TAX.
If you have any questions, please contact us by sending us a message in the app.
